Assuming they reach a resolution, it’s better than having it hang around for months on end – for a long time it looked like it might not come in court until September.

And commercially it will help the teams – having Team Lotus and Lotus Renault bickering while competing sponsors was no help for anyone on the money front.

But either way, the two teams seem certain to line up in Bahrain: one in black and gold, the other in green and yellow. Lotus Renault, the established team with one of the very best drivers on the grid in Robert Kubica. And the upstart, but highly professional, Team Lotus looking to surge up the grid with a new Renault engine and Red Bull hydraulics.

That’s going to be an interesting fight and if they end up racing for the same piece of tarmac it’s a great visual. It will be a shame if Tony Fernandes’ outfit loses its strip but life will go on for the Norfolk-based squad.
