Bahrain Grand Prix cancellation is the right decision

Cancelling the Bahrain Grand Prix was the right decision but it was a call Bernie Ecclestone should have made himself last week.

Passing the buck to the Crown Prince may well have the been the financially sound decision.

But it was clear from the outset Formula One had no business taking its circus into the middle of what is still a very serious situation.

The teams clearly didn’t want to go and the travel advice from most governments has been clear. And yet it has taken days.

The season will start in Australia and I’ll be amazed if we go to Bahrain this year. It’s for the best.
